Learning to sound out the Hebrew words phonetically is very easy and most people can learn the sounds of the Alef- Bet in just a few short easy lessons. At the same time, the Hebrew Alef-Bet is very different from the English Alphabet. We use the Aramaic block fonts to teach the beginner the letter names and how the letters sound. The beginning student will be surprised at how quickly he or she can learn to sound out this language that at first seems rather intimidating. With a little practice, in just three to six weeks, the student can begin reading the Bible and Hebrew prayers in their original language. Naturally, a vocabulary will have to be built before much understanding happens.
