Pesach 5
Torah: Ex 33:12-34:26, Num 28:16-25
Haftorah: Ezek 36:37-37:14
Exodus 33:13 "Now therefore, I pray of you, if I have found grace
in your sight, show me now your way, that I may know you, that I may find
grace in your sight: and consider that this nation is your people."
As Moses stood before the HaShem, Exodus 34:5 "And
the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed
the name of the LORD." The sages tell us that the entire Torah is
the name of G-d because that is what was given to Moses on mount Sinai.
What did the L-rd reveal to Moses as they visited on the mount? Verse
6 "And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed,"
-
YHVH: The L-RD; I Am that I Am or, I become that I become
-
YHVH EL: L-RD G-d; I am/become your G-d
-
Rachum: merciful
-
V’hanun: and gracious ("the giver")
-
Erech apayim: slow to anger
-
V’rav-chesed: abundant in goodness
-
V’emet: and truth
These identify the seven spirits of HaShem. Also see Isaiah 11:2.
HaShem said He will drive out those who;
-
Amorites: boast against us
-
Canaanites: take advantage of us in business dealings
-
Hittites: terrorize us
-
Perizzites: rule us
-
Chivites: claim to be our source of life (blessings)
-
Jebusites: trample us under their feet
Exodus 34:12 "Take heed to thyself, lest you make a covenant
with the inhabitants of the land where you go, lest it be for a snare in
the midst of you:" If we do not make covenant with these listed above,
G-d will provide for us and declare us as His people. How does one make
covenant with these? Don’t negotiate with them when they make their threats.

-
Keep Pesach (Passover).
-
The first males belong to the L-rd.
-
Do not come before Him empty handed (always bring a gift to HaShem
when you meet together.)
-
Work six days each week
-
Rest on the Sabbath (seventh day of the week)
-
Observe the feast of weeks
-
Observe the feast of in-gathering (end of the year)
If you do these things, HaShem will drive out from before you those
whom He promised and you will prosper, not because of them but because
of the mercy and graciousness of HaShem your G-d.
Exodus 34:29 "And it came to pass, when Moses came down
from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when
he came down from the mount, that Moses did not know that the skin of his
face shone while he talked with him…. 33 And till Moses had done
speaking with them, he put a veil on his face."
